ABC Australia Interviews Irwin Zalkin on Jehovah’s Witnesses Childhood Sexual Abuse

A leading attorney in childhood sexual abuse litigation against the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Irwin Zalkin of The Zalkin Law Firm was interviewed by a film crew for ABC Australia’s one-hour weekly public interest show “Four Corners.”

In 2016, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse (established by the Australian government in 2013) investigated the prevalence of child sex abuse within the Jehovah’s Witnesses. To address the issue, the royal commission outlined various recommendations that congregations should follow to protect children. Still, five years later, nothing has been done. “Four Corners” will, therefore, follow up on how Jehovah’s Witnesses is carrying on in regards to child sex abuse.

The Zalkin Law Firm advocates for child sex abuse survivors throughout the United States, including those harmed by Jehovah’s Witnesses. With no other firm around the globe matching our level of experience or success in litigating cases against Jehovah’s Witnesses, founding partner Irwin Zalkin has become known as an international legal expert on the matter. For instance, Canadian and Australian firms regularly consult him and our legal team on how to handle these cases.

The Zalkin law firm has been awarded millions of dollars in sanctions against the Jehovah’s Witnesses for their failure to comply with court orders requiring them to produce a database of “molestation files” of known child molesters within their organization. The firm has achieved groundbreaking settlements in the millions of dollars for their clients against the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Attorney Zalkin continues to take on cases against Jehovah’s Witnesses. Newsweek recently reported on two of his latest lawsuits, highlighting the stories of our clients.

In addition to ABC Australia, Attorney Zalkin has been interviewed by other media outlets and reporters—such as W5 for a Canadian TV news documentary and Trey Bundy of The Center for Investigative Reporting—on the denomination’s child sex abuse coverups and scandals.

To date, The Zalkin Law Firm has filed over 30 cases from coast to coast against Jehovah’s Witnesses congregations and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. If you or someone you love has been the victim of child sex abuse within the Jehovah’s Witnesses, we are fully equipped to fight for your rights.
