New Law Opens Window for New Lawsuits Against Catholic Diocese

NBC 7. January 2, 2020 -- AB 218, California's new statute of limitations law, goes into effect on Jan. 2, 2020.  This new law gives older victims of childhood sexual abuse access to civil justice that was previously barred by California's statute of limitations. AB 218 gives older victims a 3-year window to file civil lawsuits and many victims of Catholic Priest abuse are using this new law.

The Zalkin Law Firm announced has announced they will represent at least 165 victims who will be filing lawsuits in January and the coming weeks against the San Diego Catholic Diocese and other Catholic organizations and Dioceses in California. Irwin Zalkin, who has represented childhood sexual abuse victims for more than 20 years, will be managing these cases.
