List of Accused Priests in the Diocese of San Diego

In the Diocese of San Diego, 54 priests stand accused of sexual abuse. The list below includes all of those individuals, but many of them dispute the charges against them.

In California, individuals who came forward with allegations of sex abuse after they were adults often didn’t have their cases investigated because of the statute of limitations involved. That means that while sexual abuse allegations were made against these individuals, not all of the cases were brought to court or tried.

The list below comes from a number of different sources. It was sometimes possible to include a summary of charges and a list of where the priest served during his time in the Church.

Priests Accused of Sexual Abuse

The sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church left a wide path, and many of the survivors still haven’t come forward with allegations of abuse. Often this is because of the shame and frustration involved with sexual abuse. It’s a betrayal of trust, and survivors don’t always know who to turn to.
